Note*

Charles Cicero Whisnant was a large land owner, and a lifetime farmer. He, and his wife were both active with the dairy herd. The farm was never mechanized. They owened several teams of mules and all planting and cultivation were done with the animals. The livestock had excellent care. Mr. Whisnant never left the barn until all animals were properly fed and watered, regardless of the late hour.
