Celebrating 30 Years Online: 1996 – 2026

The Whisnant Surname Center reaches a remarkable milestone this month: three decades on the World Wide Web. I launched this site on January 10, 1996, and it has been an honor to maintain this resource for thirty years.

To ensure the site remains sustainable for the future, I am currently moving our hosting from GoDaddy to SmarterASP. This transition will reduce our annual overhead from $225 to approximately $60 per year, allowing your generous donations to go much further. During this move, I will also be restoring the European Trip Slideshow, which has been offline for a few years. The move will occur within the next few weeks, and you shouldn't notice any change in how the site works.

• [Aug 2025] Whisnant’s Through The Ages – Second Edition: The digital edition is now available for download. You can download it here free with watermarks, or get the clean, unwatermarked edition for a small donation. Your support helps keep the book accessible while covering the time it takes to prepare it for distribution.
• [June 2023] Status Update: To clear up any rumors—I am very much alive and well! I am currently enjoying life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I always enjoy hearing from visitors, so please feel free to drop me a line and say hello.
