Obituary:

Funeral services for Wm. E. Whisenand were Monday afternoon at the McLaughlin Chapel; conducted by Rev. Kenneth Kelley, assisted by the Rev. John Bray. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Wm. E. Whisenand, the son of James and Jane Dunham Whisenand. was born near Bucklin on August 30, 1866 and died September 28, 1962 at the St. Francis Hospital. He had been ill for several years.

On November 18, 1888, he was united in marriage to Rhoda Ellen White, who preceded him in death on September 17, 1947. To this union nine children were born, five of whom survives; Cleveland, of Amarillo, Texas; Everett, of Siloam Springs, Ark; Mrs. J. W. (Bessie) Hershey, and Mrs. B. E. Tanner of Marceline; Mrs. Ray Palmer of Chicago, ILL.

Other survivors include a brother, Charles F. Whisenand of Marceline; a half-brother, Ralph of Bucklin; two half-sisters, Orpha Dayle of Galesburg, Ill. and Edith Hammer of Anaheim, Calif. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.

In later years he was married to Mrs. Fannie Terrell and she too, preceded him in death. On October 25, 1957, he was united in marriage to Armanda Malloy Snyder who survives.

Mr Whisenand spent most of his life in and around Marceline farming. At one time he was employed at the city pumping station at the city reservoir.

Mr. Whisenand was a member of the Christian Church for many years.
