Name Variation As of 1 June 1850, Samuel E. Whisenant was also known as Whisenhunt recorded name on census report. Actually it was "Whissenhunt". I interpret this to be Whisenhunt.2 
NoteHe served in the Union Army, from 12 Dec 1862 until May 1865, in Company E., 64th Illinois Volunteers. He enlisted at Glendale, MS. Pension #150351.

I think Samuel married Elizabeth Timmons, widow. I blieve it's just a coincidence that Elizabeth Wilson and Elizabeth Timmons were both born in TN around the same time.

The Elizabeth Whisenant who died 13 Feb 1898 is probably Elizabeth Timmons. The birth date on the headstone says 1831 for the birth. Elizabeth Timmons listed her age as 40 in 1870. Elizabeth Wilson listed her age as 22 in 1850.

Did not find Mollie Grant Whisenant, age 3, in the 1870 census. Did find Mollie Timmons, age 3. I think Mollie Whisenant and Mollie Timmons are the same person.

Did not find Manerva A. Whisenant, age 1, in the 1870 census. Did find Jane Timmons, age 1. I think Manerva and Jane are the same person.

Mary E. Whisenant, b.c. 1851, I don't know where she is in 1870.

James Henry Whisenant, b.c. 1855. He is un-accounted for in 1870.

Eliza Timmons, is in the household in 1880, listed as step-daughter to Samuel Whisenant.
