Jerry W. Whisenant

Former employee of Cherokee School District

Jerry Wayne Whisenant, 39, of 555 Robbs School Rd., died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Tammy Coleman Whisenant and son of Jerry Dean and Alice Bolin Whisenant of Gaffney. He was a former employee of the Cherokee County School District and was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Tim Whisenant of the home; a daughter, Morgan Whisenant of the home; a brother, Scott Whisenant of Gaffney; and maternal grandmother, Margaret Bolin of Gaffney.

Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Revs. Mike Frazier and John Goforth. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Danny Ray Sarratt, Jeff Brooks, Kevin Whisenant, Kenneth Whisenant, Bill Price and David Swank.
