Funeral for Hoyt Whisenant, 89, of Moulton will be today, August 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Arnold Bracken and Bro. Kennard Devaney officiating. Burial will be in Mountain Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Whisenant, who died Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham, was born February 14, 1924, in Lawrence County to the late Willie Whisenant and Florence Blankenship Whisenant. He was a member of Owen Chapel Baptist Church. He was the caretaker of Mountain Springs Church and a member of the Laborers International Union. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eva Hamby Whisenant; and six brothers, Talmadge Whisenant, Glen Whisenant, Earl Whisenant, Jessie Whisenant, Billy Whisenant and Herman Whisenant.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Thrasher and Steve Summersett of Hartselle and Patsy White (Wayne) of Moulton; four grandchildren, Tim Thrasher (Lori) of Trinity, Christy Bradley of Chelsea, Joshua White (Ashley) of Huntsville and Bethany White of Moulton; and five great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Thrasher, MacKenzie Thrasher, Elizabeth Bradley, Olivia White and Julia White.

Pallbearers will be Tim Thrasher, Joshua White, Ronnie White, Bud Ellis, Starlin Blankenship, Gary Hamby, Bill Crump and Shane Whisenant.

Honorary pallbearers will be Josh McKelvey, Larry Whisenant, Gary White and Leamon Hamby.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mountain Springs Church Maintenance Program, 1110 Co. Rd. 217, Moulton, AL 35650.
