Obituary

Mildred Matholee Shelton Bonnet, age 81, went to be with her Lord, peacefully in her sleep at Bertram Nursing and Rehab on January 28, 2012. She was born on March 23, 1930 in Georgetown, Texas to parents Johnny Milton Shelton and Hettie Mae (Whisenant) Shelton. Matholee started working at a young age helping her family pick cotton. She was a homemaker who loved to garden and cook. She made the best biscuits and gravy around.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Matholee loved knitting and playing dominoes. She especially loved her little dog "Littlebit" who was her loyal companion for many years. Littlebit was with Matholee and they treasured each other through thick and thin.

Matholee was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to travel so much she ventured to every state in the United States and to many, many county courthouses in Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny Milton and Hettie Mae and grandchildren James Rubben and John Henry.

She is survived by her sons, Zukie Bonnet and wife Becky and Ray Bonnet and wife Donna; daughter, Nelda Dodson and husband Bud; grandchildren, Melissa Tipsword, Rolan Bonnet, Dianna Hill, Jennifer Hoffman, Nikki Light and Trent Bonnet; great-grandchildren, Robert, Logan, Jett, Julie, Gregory, Brittany, Addie and Preslee; and a brother, Earl Shelton.

The family would like to thank the Staff of Bertram Nursing and Rehab and Odyssey Hospice for caring for Matholee.

The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 30, 2012 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at South San Gabriel Cemetery in Bertram, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Logan Hill, Rolan Bonnet, Trent Bonnet, Royce Light, Bobby Tipsword, Robert Hamilton and David Hoffman. Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall Kirk and Adam Kirk.
