Linda Elizabeth Linkous Whisnant

Linda Linkous Whisnant was born into a fairly large family in 1945, She grew up in Tazwell County, VA. In 1966, she married then Army Sergeant E-5 Dewey Whisnant on October 17th. They had their first child, Alisa Michelle Whisnant, on March 31, 1969. Their second child, Tracey Deanne Whisnant, was stillborn and died in 1972. She resided in Hampton, VA for a short while, until moving to the Shenandoah Valley, VA in the late 1970's/early 1980's. Her family settled into a house in Verona and She remained there for the rest of her life. In 2001, After over a year of Fighting the Cancer, she was decided to stop treatment. She spent the remainder of her life with her loving family. She departed this life at 4:55 p.m. on Tuesday July 31, 2001. She was cremated and interred in Augusta Memorial Park several days later. She was survived by: Her Husband, Dewey (B. 1944), Daughter, Lisa (B. 1969), Son-in-law, Guy J Stickley III (B. 1968), 3 Grandchildren, Guy J Stickley IV (B. 1988), Evan Alexander Dewey Stickley (B. 1996), and Dillon Tyler Stickley (B. 2000), She was also survived by 3 Sisters (Bonita, Gloria, and Marsha) 1 Brother (Jack), and many nieces and nephews. She was a great woman, who made each day worth living and always had a smile and story to tell. This biography is to keep her alive forever. She is among the strong that cancer can never beat her. She is still alive in everyone's heart today.
