Ruby Ledford Whisenhunt

WHISENHUNT WINSTON-SALEM - Mrs. Ruby Ledford Whisenhunt, 79, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born August 7, 1931 in Swain County, NC to Fred and Ann Lindsey Ledford. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, J.B. "Buck" Whisenhunt. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Coffey (Bill) of Calabash, NC and Tammy Shoemaker (Ronnie) of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Jason Coffey (Kari) of Clemmons, Jyl Coffey (fiancee, Travis Carter) of Kernersville, Ronnie Shoemaker, Jr. and Nicolas Shoemaker, both of Winston-Salem; one great grandchild, Hunter Berciunas of Ocean Isle Beach and father, Keith; two brothers, Omar Ledford of Ohio and Jack Ledford of Bryson City, N.C.. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Mr. Bill Teague officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to express their thanks to Ruby's friends for their love and support.
