Lee Merritt Whisonant

ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Lee Merritt Whisonant, 96, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at White Oak Manor. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road, with the Rev. Steve Hogg officiating. A native of York, Mrs. Whisonant was a daughter of the late Alsie Monroe Merritt and Emma Lucreatia Alderson Merritt. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. She was the widow of Arthur Conley Whisonant. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Whisonant of Rock Hill and Keith Whisonant of Weddington, N.C.; her sister, Wincil Boleman of Rock Hill; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside and other times at the home of Kenneth and Janice Whisonant, 717 Painted Lady Court. Bass Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.
