Jack Whisenant

CLOVER -- Mr. Jack Neil Whisenant, 76, of 1096 St. Paul Church Road died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, N.C.

He was born June 29, 1927, in Clover, son of the late Avery Deal and Ida Horton Whisenant Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ethel Foster Whisenant of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Tom Ed Glenn of Clover, and Jackie and Richard Wallace of Smyrna; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Joy Whisenant of Rock Hill, and Daryl and Tammy Whisenant of Concord; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Avery Deal and Carolyn Whisenant Jr. of Clover, and Richard and Betty Whisenant of Clover; a sister, Mae W. Douglas of Darlington; 10 grandchildren, Ronnie and Kathryn Glenn, Keith and Holly Glenn, Tony and Tracy Wallace, Sarah, Hannah, Idah and Avery Whisenant, Brittany and Heather Whisenant, Jay and Renee Collins; four great-grandchildren, Ali, Nicholas and Andrew Glenn and Morgan Wallace; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Evans Whisenant.

Mr. Whisenant was an employee of the American thread Co., Clover, and retired from Sherrill Industries, Dallas, N.C. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clover and the Gold Club. Mr. Whisenant was a member of Clover Masonic Lodge 208, the Eastern Star of Clover and the Hejaz Shrine.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Clover, conducted by the Rev. David Stanford officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
