Julius Lemar Whisenant

CLEVELAND – Julius Lemar Whisenant, 90, died on Sunday, March 4, 2006 at his residence in Cleveland.

He was born July 19, 1916 in Morris Ferry, Ark. to the late Jesse Lafayette and the late Lucille Marie Fawcett. “Lemar” was known as a first-class welder, heavy machine operator and excellent farmer. He was known to enjoy fishing and working in his vegetable garden. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jessie Simmons.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannette Whisenant; son, Jesse Lee Whisenant and wife Shirley; four daughters, Joyce Jean Kuhlmann and husband James, Carol Ann Borden and husband John, Martha Marie Scott and husband Ron and Nina Fay Kennedy and husband Fred; siblings, Dan Sawkicki, Fay Traylor, John Henderson, Luceilla Thomas and Mable Gray and Vicky Moak; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services were held Wednesday, March 7, in the Neal Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland, with Bro. Harvey Abke officiating. Interment followed in Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
