Jeremy Whisenant

Jeremy Whisenant, 28, of McAlester, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at McAlester Regional Health Center.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church, McAlester Father Leonard Higgins officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Honorary pallbearers include Joel Wingo, Shane Cross, Clifford Cantral, Matt Hull, Brandon Bradfield and Chris Sparks.

Honorary pallbearers include Russell Shields, Michael Wood, Robby Vanvekoven, James Ford, Robert Coon, Don Shipley, Ray Durant, Ryan Johnson, Joe McElroy and Steven McElroy.

Born May 6, 1979, to Rynda Whisenant, he graduated from Hartshorne High School, Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah with a bachelors degree. He had helped take care of his disabled sister her entire life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was currently working at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.

Survivors include his mother, Rynda Whisenant, of the home; two sisters, Jamie Whisenant, of Vinita, Miranda Whisenant, of the home; aunts and uncles, Steve and Sheila Whisenant, of Vinita, Kent and Linda Whisenant, of Talala; great aunt and uncle, Bonnie and Walt Vreeland.

Also, cousins, Clinton Whisenant, of Denver, Colo., Sarah Hull, of Oklahoma City, Leslie Kaiser, of Tulsa, Kendall Whisenant, of Talala; nieces, Zoey Hatzenbuehler, of Vinita, Miley Hatzenbuehler of Vinita, OK

And, paternal grandparents, Dan and Helen McNamara, of Claremore, and three special friends, Amberley Cross, Clifford Cantrell and Tommy Thomason.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Helen Tyson and Lee Roy Whisenant.
