Eula Whisenant

Rhododendron resident Eula Whisenant, 93, died Sunday, June 24, in Portland.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Sandy Funeral Home, 39551 Pleasant St., Sandy. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif.

Eula was born Dec. 29, 1913, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Joseph D. and Martha (Cash) Small. Eula was raised in Arkansas where she received her education.

She married Sherman James Whisenant in Arkansas. They began their family in Arkansas and moved to Los Angeles in the early 1940s.

Eula worked as a homemaker and later as a sales clerk for JC Penney. In 1992, she came to Oregon to live with her son in Sandy, before moving to Timberline Rim. She enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969.

Survivors include her daughter, Billie McIntyre of Rhododendron; sons, Ron Whisenant of Sandy, Don Whisenant of Sandy; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
