Roy Whisenhunt

WHISENHUNT, ROY Roy Whisenhunt was born in Shreveport, LA on July 23, 1913. He went to Byrd High School and was an Eagle Scout. Roy earned a B.S. in M.E. and a commission in the Army Reserve from Georgia Tech. He retained his military commission for 39 years, serving on active duty during all of WWII and the Korean War, retiring as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He started work for Texaco in 1938 and retired in 1978. Roy married Barbara Pullen in 1939. They had two children, Eric of Littleton, CO, and Marsha Tyre of Jacksonville, FL. They enjoyed travel, sailing, tennis, and bridge. Barbara died in October of 2006. Roy is survived by his children; 3 grandchildren; a sisterin-law, Mrs. Ralph Pullen; a niece, Mrs. B.A. Conrad, of Fayetteville, AR; and a nephew, Donald Pullen, of Metairie, LA.
