Ruby Aline Whisenant

ROCKDALE — Services for Ruby Aline Whisenant, 90, of Rockdale, and formerly of McGregor, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Rockdale. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in McGregor Cemetery.

The Rev. Steve Galindo, the Rev. Carrol Hambrick and the Rev. Eugene Hoover will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale and from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at College Avenue Baptist Church in McGregor.

Mrs. Whisenant died Tuesday.

She was born in Hillsboro. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale who was active in the Bethany class. Mrs. Whisenant taught Sunday school for 15 years and was a member of the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy C. “Dick” Whisenant.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dixie and Earl Whitmore of Rockdale; three sisters-in-law, Daisy Rogers of Cleburne, Martha Rosenbaum of Georgetown and Bonnie Parker of Rotan; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
