Winnett Whisenant Prehoditch

Winnett Whisenant Prehoditch, a beloved mother, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, peacefully to her reward in heaven. She was 90 years old.

Memorial service: (graveside) 3 p.m. Tuesday, Mount Olivet Cemetery, the Rev. Stephen Lowrie of North Fort Worth Baptist Church presiding.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of choice or church fund.

Winnett Whisenant Prehoditch was born in Dublin, April 28, 1918, the second daughter of Edward "Boss" and Hettie Whisenant. She graduated from Dublin High School in 1936.

In 1936 her family moved to Fort Worth: her father owned the Lone Star Cattle Commission Company of The Fort Worth Stockyards Exchange. Her family joined North Fort Worth Baptist Church in 1936. She married Andrew D. Prehoditch in 1947. They had two children, Kenneth and Karen. After Andrew's untimely death in 1964 she continued to raise her children with her mother's and sister Inez's help in a loving Christian atmosphere.

She was preceded in death in 2000 by her loving sister, Inez Parks.

Special love goes to Inez's son, Winnett's nephew, R. Ralph Parks of Hong Kong, China, whose loving generosity provided for her care during her four-year illness. Her devoted caregivers were Arlene and Butch Ducker of Arlington and Arlene's daughter, Kendra Rodriguez of Arlington and Jewel Corley of Cleburne.

Survivors: Son, Kenneth E Prehoditch of Fort Worth; daughter, Karen Kaye Claus of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Andrew B. Claus of New York City, Kevin and Kathyrn Claus of Seattle.
