Harlton W. Whisenhunt

Mr. Harlton W. Whisenhunt, was born March 17, 1919 in McCurtain County, Oklahoma, to the late Robert Lee and the late Mary Lee Harris Whisenhunt. He was united in marriage to the late Helen Alice Stephens. He was a car dealer for AMC by profession and was also a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Whisenhunt was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Rifleman's Association. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
Mr. Whisenhunt was preceded in death by his parents; his wfe: Helen Whisenhunt; 5 brothers: Horace, Ray, Lee, Paul, and Tracy Whisenhunt; 3 sisters: Helen, Dorothy,Gracie and Marie; other relatives; and many good friends.
He is survived by: a son: H. D. Whisenhunt of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his daughters: Ellene Whisenhunt and Irene Whisenhunt, both of Garland, Texas; a brother: Robert Lee Whisenhunt of Mena, Arkansas; a sister: Bonnie Laird of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren: Carla Renee Makowski and Harlton Dale Whisenhunt; his great-grandchildren: Ashley Nicole Bertrand, Sarah Elizabeth Makowski, Amanda Marie Makowski, Misty Dawn Allen, Aaron Whisenhunt, and Justin Whisenhunt; his great-great- grandchildren: Austen James Bertrand and Brooklynn Nichole Allen.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel. Dr. Austin Emery officiated the services. Interment will follow at Six Mile Cemetery at Hatfield under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
