Charles S. Whisenhunt Jr.

Memorial services for Charles S. Whisenhunt Jr., 51, of 3238 Shillings Bridge Road, Cope, will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Henry Chavis and the Rev. Floyd Dukes officiating.

Mr. Whisenhunt died June 26, at the Medical University Hospital in Charleston.

He was born December 20, 1955, in Orangeburg, the son of Imogene Davis Whisenhunt and the late Charles S. Whisenhunt Sr. He was a member of Mount Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church and he taught floral design at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and at many local garden clubs and at Louisiana State Community College. He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Eugene Whisenhunt.

Survivors include his life partner and companion, Daryl Cate of the home; his mother, Mrs. Imogene Davis Whisenhunt of Cope; Danny Whisenhunt and his wife, Lisa of Burlington, N.C.; brother, Toney O. Whisenhunt of Cope; one sister and her husband, Sharon and Randy Smith of Belton; eight nieces and nephews; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
