Note* | During the Civil War, Andrew was with Company H, 18th., Alabama Infantry. He suffered a slight arm wound during that battle. He's in a Roll of Prisoners of War, Company E, 32 and 58 consolidated Alabama Regiments, C.S.A., that surrendered at Citronelle, AL, by Lieut. Gen. R. Taylor, C.S.A., to Maj. Gen. E. R. S. Canby, U.S.A., 4 May 1865, and paroled at Meridan, MS, 10 May 1865. He shown as Andrew J. Whisonant, on a list of casualties of the 58th Alabama Regiment, C.S.A.
