Note*Philip Peter Visinand arrived in Philadelphia on 14 Oct 1731 with his wife Allena (Anna Helena), two of his sons John Peter and John Adam. They lived in Colalico Township, in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. They came from Europe aboard the ship 'Lowther.' Lowther was of the class "snow", and has since been referred to in some printed works as "Snow Lowther". I don't know the whereabouts of the other children born in Hassloch, Edenkoben, Germany. (Edenkoben is a small town, approximately 20 miles, or 32 kilometers, southwest of Mannheim, Germany.) Philip Peter obtained a land grant in Lancaster Co., Pa., in 1737. His family attended Muddy Creek Church there. Philip's godfather was A. D. Hardt, a well-known Pharmacist from Neustadt, Germany.

Author's note: I obtained Philip's day of birth from Rex James Whisnand. The information presented below on Philip Peter and his children came from the Quarterly of the Pennsylvania German Society, Volume 12, No. 2, April 1978, page 17:
