Peter purchased 71 acres of land in Erath Co., TX from the R.P. Boswell Survey. In 1878 Peter Whisenant paid two years back taxes on 356 acres of the R. P. Boswell Survey, and secured a tax title to the same. On June 17, 1879, the Boswell heirs recovered the 356 acres, and on the same day, Peter Whisenant purchased the 356 acres for $932. (Note: The 1880 Erath Co., TX census states that his father and mother were both born in 'VA'.). |
